At the heart of Australia’s vocational education sector we need a strong, supported TAFE system.

Join us to campaign to Rebuild with TAFE for the next federal election.

The future funding needs of TAFE must be a priority for all politicians at the next election. Investing in the education and skills of the nation is the best investment that we can make for the future.

There has never been a greater need for further investment to ensure that Australia has a high quality, well-resourced and respected TAFE sector. Properly funded vocational education provides significant economic and social benefits to the Australian community.

We know just how important TAFE is in providing high-quality vocational education to students to prepare them for their future career.

With the Albanese Government’s roll out of Fee-Free courses, even more Australians are getting their first start or changing the course of their lives thanks to TAFE.

But to meet the increased demand created by Fee-Free TAFE, we need further government funding to rebuild our strong, trusted and public vocational education system.

That’s why we’re calling on the Commonwealth to match its investment in TAFE students with an equally ambitious investment in the TAFE workforce, additional support for students, and investment to renew campus equipment and infrastructure.

These investments are vital to support hard-working TAFE teachers and staff, and set TAFE students up with everything they need to thrive.

Add your voice

By joining the Rebuild with TAFE campaign you’ll be standing alongside thousands of supporters across the country who believe in the power of public vocational education to shape our country’s future. Together, we can show the Albanese Government that we demand real investment in TAFE – an investment that will support teachers, upgrade facilities, and provide the modern resources that students need to succeed.

Add your voice and tell the government to Rebuild with TAFE and invest in a positive future for all of us.

Why should we invest in TAFE?

Sally McManus, Secretary of the ACTU

TAFE must be rebuilt. It must be rebuilt because our country needs it and our young people deserve it.

— Sally McManus, Secretary of the ACTU

Tanya Cameron OAM, National President, Country Women’s Association of Australia

If governments are serious about improving the liveability of rural, regional and remote communities then they MUST include the opportunities that a publicly funded TAFE system can offer.

— Tanya Cameron OAM, National President, Country Women’s Association of Australia

Michelle Purdy, Federal TAFE President

I have worked in TAFE for decades in an identified role supporting First Nations students in their studies. Our mob have long term and trusted relationships with their local TAFE who provide culturally supportive learning environments that support First Nations students to succeed.
