Federal Election 2022

AUSTRALIANS NEED A STRONG TAFE SYSTEM TO REBUILD THE ECONOMY AND END THE SKILLS SHORTAGE CRISIS.

Australia has a skills crisis with a predicted shortage of more than 200,000 workers in the next five years in critical areas such as aged care, disability care, childcare, ICT, carpentry, plumbing and many more. Yet the Morrison Government has gone missing.

VET and TAFE funding is $8 billion lower since the Coalition Government was elected in 2013. And in the past three years under Scott Morrison as PM, TAFE has been denied the critical funding it needs to provide high-quality vocational education for all students in state-of-the-art facilities.

In fact, the Morrison Government’s failure to put TAFE first has deeply impacted students with lost opportunities through course cuts, campus closures and higher fees.

The COVID pandemic has highlighted the urgent need to rebuild with TAFE to meet the skill demands of industries and to support workers to reskill and rebuild their lives.

Australians deserve a strong TAFE system to rebuild our economy. But Scott Morrison says, “That’s not my job”.

So, let’s give that job to someone else when we vote at the upcoming Federal Election. The Morrison Government must go.

Vote to change the government.
